I went freelance in 2019 after a studio folded under me. Seven years later I bill about three times what that salary was, work four days a week, and still get the Sunday dread about once a month. I have made most of the mistakes: underpricing, a client who never paid, a year where one account was 80% of my income. Happy to answer anything about pricing, finding work, contracts, or keeping the whole thing sustainable with a family.
